The point of view of Rijkaard : Rijkaard admitted that it wouldn't be easy to replace Deco and Ronaldinho, but insisted: "the guys that come in will bring a lot to the team". Frankly, I think I'd be running a bigger risk if I pushed Deco and Ronaldinho too hard right now. I'm very happy with both of them, but I have to accept that there's still a lot of games to play and we've got other lads who are really keen to play". Rijkaard insisted that he'd not lost any confidence in his two stars: "Ronaldinho is a player who makes the difference between us and other teams he also communicates his excitement and conviction to the other players. Deco has already shown how decisive he can be with his goals against Mallorca and Valencia". www.fcbarcelona.com/eng/noticias/noticias/n05092304.shtml

Deco says he is still happy at Barcelona MADRID (Reuters) - Portugal international Deco says he is happy at Barcelona despite making comments about a deteriorating atmosphere at the club following the Spanish champions' mediocre start to the season. The Brazilian-born midfielder told Portuguese weekly Record he was having more fun playing for Portugal than Barcelona, after Portugal sealed their place at next year's World Cup finals in Germany with a win over Liechtenstein on Saturday.
"What I said was that the atmosphere in the national team was the best in recent memory because of the result and because we have qualified for the World Cup," Deco told Radio Barcelona.
"I made a comparison with the present atmosphere at Barcelona and nothing more. The atmosphere isn't the best at the moment because of the way we have started the season, but I'm sure it will get better.
"I never said I wanted to leave the club. I'm very happy and want to stay at Barcelona forever."
The 28-year-old played a central role in helping Barcelona to their first league title in six years last season and in June renewed his contract with the club until 2010. ADVERTISEMENT
But the midfielder has been criticised for not pulling his weight this season, with former coach Johan Cruyff saying he was "experiencing an alarming dip in form."
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari sprang to the defence of the international, saying Cruyff's comments were more the result of internal squabbles at Barcelona than the player's form.
"The really alarming thing is the nonsense Cruyff continues to spout," Scolari told Radio Barcelona. "He's criticising Deco because just like the other Brazilians he is a friend of (former Barcelona director) Sandro Rosell."
Barcelona are fifth in the Primera Liga standings after just two wins from six games this season. They are away to Deportivo Coruna on Saturday.

Deco will be OK for the game against Madrid on november19 !!! www.fcbarcelona.com/eng/noticias/noticias/n05110406.shtmlDeco almost over injury The great news was that Deco seemed fully fit as he took part in every aspect of the training session, and did not seem to be feeling any ill effects. Deco has been troubled with a leg injury he picked up in the Osasuna match. Deco was also carrying protection for his right arm, on which he was also operated this week, taking advantage of the fact that he was not going to be match fit anyway. He won't be playing this weekend, but in all probability will be set to make his return to first team duty for the biggie in Madrid on November 19.

Great!! www.fcbarcelona.com/eng/noticias/noticias/n05110714.shtmlAs well as picking up three crucial points, Barcelona's victory against Getafe brought further good news as Deco made his comeback from injury after two weeks on the sidelines. The fifth consecutive victory for the Blaugrana included the Portuguese midfielder's return to action after he had spent 15 days recovering from a muscle strain in his left leg that he suffered in the win over Osasuna. Barça club doctor, Lluis Til, announced he was pleased with Deco's recovery. The medical team predicted that the former Porto star would be out for around three weeks, but he has only taken two to come back and it is thanks to an intense physiotherapy programme that he has been able to make it back earlier than expected, according to Til. "Deco has had intensive therapy over the past fortnight, morning and evening with the physios, Jaume Jardí and Carlos Martín," Til explained. "On Wednesday and Thursday he began training with a personal trainer, Paco Seirul·lo, and on Friday and Saturday he joined the squad. Since everything had gone so well and the injury looked fine, it was decided that he could be incorporated into the team." The hand is coming on well Doctor Til then talk about Deco's injury to a finger that needed surgery two weeks ago to correct. "The break is coming on well," he said. "It does not prevent him from playing in games. In fact, he played on Sunday with a special plaster around it to protect it against any further problems. "We took advantage to sort out this injury while he was recovering from the leg injury, since we knew how long he would be out for and it all worked well and gave us time to repair the break properly."

New interview from barca-site: again cute pics if you click the link www.fcbarcelona.com/eng/noticias/noticias/n05120124.shtmlDeco expects a great game Deco has assured the fans that history will not repeat itself this weekend, despite believing that Villarreal are, along with Barça, one of the best teams in the league. After two seasons without a win at El Madrigal, Deco believes that Barça will be able to deliver the goods this time. He says that "last season we found it very hard, partly because it was our first game back after Christmas. But this year will be different. I am sure that the same thing won't happen as last year". Villarreal one of the best Deco knows that Barcelona's next opponent is not one to be taken lightly, saying "they, along with Barça, are one of the teams that plays the best football. They have some quality players and an attacking mentality. We should expect to see a good game". Those quality players include Riquelme, who Deco describes as "a great player, although perhaps he just didn't have any luck at Barça". But when asked whether he would rather have Riquelme or Ronaldinho in the side, Deco said it would have to be Ronaldinho. Then again, if had said Riquelme there would have been trouble! Nothing to prove Looking ahead to the December calendar as a whole, Deco explains that "all we need to do is keep working in a similar vein, and hope things can keep going as well for us". As it stands, Deco really does not see that Barcelona have anything to prove, "This is the same Barça that won the league, so we don't have to prove anything" he says. BARÇA BITE: Between friends Asked who he thinks is going to win the FIFA World Player 2006 award, Deco did not want to pick any name from the three nominees, Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Lampard: "All three would be worthy winners" he says. "I wouldn't like to say who I prefer out of the two Barça players, because they are friends of mine, but I hope the winner is one of ours."
